God’s Power Today
Have You Ever Felt the Stirring of Revival?
In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, have you ever sensed a deeper spiritual awakening stirring within you? Perhaps you’ve heard whispers of revival breaking out in unexpected places, like college campuses or small towns. This isn’t just a distant hope—it’s happening now, and it’s calling us to be part of something extraordinary.
The Birth Pangs of Revival
A few years ago, a revival at Asbury University captured the attention of many, sparking a movement that seemed to fade as quickly as it began. Yet, this was just the beginning—a glimpse of the greater revival that is now unfolding across America and beyond. Young people, from teenagers to those in their early thirties, are turning to Jesus in droves, recognizing their need for a Savior in a world that often feels broken.
This revival is marked by repentance, a turning back to God, and an acknowledgment that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. It’s a movement driven by a hunger for authenticity and a desire to see God as He truly is—a God of love, mercy, and power.
Rediscovering the Power of the Spirit
The sermon reminds us that the church cannot afford to be a place of mere words and rituals. We are called to be a community that embodies the power of the Holy Spirit, just as Jesus did when He walked the earth. In Luke 4:14, we see Jesus returning to Galilee “in the power of the Spirit,” performing miracles that drew people from all around. This same power, the “dunamis” or miraculous power, is available to us today.
The early church operated in this power, and so should we. Acts 1:8 promises that we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, enabling us to be true witnesses of Jesus. This isn’t just about physical healings—though those are incredible—but about seeing lives transformed, marriages restored, and communities changed.
Stepping into the Supernatural
You might wonder, “Can this really happen today?” The answer is a resounding yes. The line between the natural and the supernatural is thin, and it takes just a step of faith to cross it. Like the woman with the issue of blood who reached out to touch Jesus’ garment, we are invited to press in, to believe, and to expect miracles.
Jesus Himself said in John 14:12, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do.” This promise is for all who believe, not just for the apostles or the early church. It’s a call to action for us today.
Practical Steps to Embrace God’s Power
1. Seek God in Prayer: Spend time in prayer, asking God to fill you with His Spirit and to reveal His power in your life.
2. Step Out in Faith: When you feel a nudge from the Holy Spirit, act on it. Pray for someone in need, share your faith, or serve in your community.
3. Join a Community: Surround yourself with others who are passionate about experiencing God’s power. Together, you can encourage and support one another.
A Prayer for Revival
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the revival that is stirring in our hearts and across the world. We ask for Your Spirit to fill us with boldness and power, that we may be true witnesses of Your love and grace. Help us to step out in faith, to believe in Your miraculous power, and to see lives transformed for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As we embrace this season of revival, let’s be a church that not only speaks of God’s power but lives it out daily. Together, we can witness the incredible things God is doing and be part of His miraculous work in the world.
