Moms plays a very important role in society and in the lives of their families. As Mother’s Day approaches, I am aware that a lot of people have different feelings surrounding their mothers. However, TODAY, I would like to honor every single mother out there.
As the years have gone by, I have realized just how much a mom does and often times nobody even notice the copious amount of time, effort and hard work that goes into getting everything done on a daily basis. Often times, moms need to do the same monotonous tasks over and over again, making sure that everybody has what they need and more. After our second child was born, I remember wondering why my wife was so tired and stressed out at the end of the day. I felt like my wife needs to realize that I work hard all day with different people’s personalities, planning, management and all the stress that goes along with my every dayresponsibilities, including crisis control that occur in the church. One day after feeling a little sorry for her Idecided that she needed a little help with all her responsibilities, because she really looked exhausted. I thought I will give her a little help with doing dishes and cooking etc. In my mind I envisioned this to be a piece of cake. Oh, my goodness! Nothing prepared me for what I was about to discover. I came to realize that just by helping in one or two areas, the time and effort that it takes and that it is not as easy as it looked. I was in shock for a while, and could not believe that she could be such an incredible mom and wife with all the stress of her responsibilities at home and also working at the church. It was mind boggling how she could take such amazing care of her family and also run an entire household, and the list goes on and on.
So today my advice to everyone will be not to take mom for granted, or under estimate the work that she does behind the scenes and in front of everyone. Quite honestly, I think my wife is superwoman. I know that everything she does can only be motivated by true love. Make sure to let the mom in your life, know how much you value and appreciate her! She is so worth it.
The Bible also mentions that a Godly woman who runs her home and builds it in the ways of the Lord, is very special and she is considered to be wise.
In another passage the bible shows how God compares His comfort to the way a mother comforts her child. This confirms just how great the comfort of a mother is.
Isaiah 66:13 (NLT)
13I will comfort you there in Jerusalem as a mother comforts her child.”
This Mother’s Day make sure to love and appreciate your mom. Her commitment, strength, love and comfort are truly incomparable.
